Dr Nic Peeling is a research scientist at DERA - The Defence, Evaluation, and Research Agency . It was when he was promoted to be a manager of research scientists, leading a team of fifteen people, that he went to look for a book to tell him what he really needed to know about management. He couldn't find anything that revealed what brilliant managers know, do and say. So he set out to research and write one. Here it is!
